According to the already former Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili: "Sozar Subari repaired the houses of 500 refugee families which were built under the previous government after the August war. Those houses had neither floors nor ceilings."
FactCheck verified the accuracy of the statement.
According to the information of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia, the Ministry built 5,903 apartments in total (4,379 cottages and 1,524 flats) for internally displaced persons after the August war of 2008 whilst the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia built 3,899 apartments for refugees from 2008 up until today. Of this amount, there were 1,375 houses and 2,524 flats at a total cost of GEL 129,750,785.
In regard to repair work, according to the information of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia, work was carried out only in 2015 (in the period of 2013-2015) in the following settlements:
- Tighvi Municipality – village of Doghlaura, ceiling repair for four cottages
- Eredvi Municipality – village of Teliani, floor repair for four cottages; village of Skra, floor repair for five cottages; village of Khurvaleti, floor repair for 31 cottages;
- Kurta Municipality – village of Karaleti, floor repair for 84 cottages.
