A photograph of Joe Biden, President of the United States; Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, and Jill Biden, First Lady of the United States, where Joe Biden has his hand on Mr Zelenskyy’s buttocks is disseminated in Georgian and Russian social networks. In fact, the photograph has been tampered with and does not reflect reality.
On 21 December 2022, for the first time since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the President of Ukraine left the country’s territory and visited US President Joe Biden on a working visit. The photograph was taken during that visit.
First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, uploaded the original version of the photograph on her Twitter account with the following caption: “President Zelenskyy, we hope you take our love and support back to Olena and your children and all the families of Ukraine💕.”
Seeing the original photograph makes it clear that photograph published in social networks was distorted. In the original photograph President Biden has his arm on Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s back.

No photographs or footage taken on that day feature any shot that could be similar to the manipulated photograph.

Of note is that another doctored version of the photograph was also disseminated in social networks.
Therefore, the photographs disseminated in social networks do not reflect reality and are being shared with the aim of discrediting President Biden and President Zelenskyy.
